You build a cabinet from boards in the left panel, in the Add section. A new board always lands next to the carcass.
+ Side – the first side (720 × 560 × 18).
+ Side – the second side closes a 600 mm carcass.
+ Top / bottom twice – bottom and top, between the sides.
+ Back – 3 mm HDF at the back.
+ Shelf – goes into the largest free height.
+ Front – with a 2 mm gap all round.
Tip.+ Board with a board selected makes a copy next to it.
Getting started
Furniture sketch beta
You do not have to start from boards. In the sketch you draw the piece the way you think about it – it works on phones too.
1. Carcasses – split the piece into carcasses, detach them or join them into a corner.2. Inside – shelves, drawers or a rail in each section.3. Fronts – close the sections with fronts.Tools – vertical and horizontal knife, moving a split, more drawers in one click.
Carcasses – split the piece into carcasses; a carcass can be detached, moved or hung on the wall.
Inside – split a carcass into sections with the “knife”: place a line, drag, confirm ✓.
Contents – a section is empty, with shelves, a rail or drawers; you choose how many.
Fronts, worktop, sides and legs – one click each.
Sizes – in the next step you enter millimetres, top / bottom panels, the back and the front type (inset or overlay).
The sketch turns into boards with codes (e.g. A1-BL, A-F1), edge bands and hardware – ready to edit in 3D. “3D model” and “To production” take you there in one click; ✏ Sketch brings you back.
Getting started
Templates, library and clipboard
The Templates section in the left panel has two tabs.
Templates
★ Favourites, Most used (counted on this device), My clipboard and built-in pieces: base and wall cabinets, shelving, a wardrobe with doors, a chest of drawers. A click inserts the piece as a new group next to what you have.
Library
Categories: Kitchen, Bedroom, Living room, Bathroom, Office, Dining room, Children’s room, Hallway, Alcove fit-outs. The library window has subcategories, search and thumbnails; Insert or a double click adds the piece.
My clipboard
Your own modules: select a cabinet → To clipboard in the action window → give it a name. The clipboard stays in this browser.
+ from a JSON file…
Inserts a piece from a file as a group – your project stays. Open replaces the whole project (Undo brings it back).
3D editor
Selecting
Click a board (in the view or in the list) – one board. Click empty space or Esc – deselect.
Ctrl / Shift + click – several boards, e.g. to group them.
Click a group header in the list (▣ Cabinet_1) – the whole cabinet.
Boards do not overlap – one switch for the project, at the top (yellow = on, red = boards may overlap). See below.
V
Select – click boards and groups.
G
Move with arrows – X / Y / Z arrows to drag.
M
Tape measure – click the start and end point. Snaps to corners, edges, board faces and the floor; Shift measures along one axis. Measurements are saved in the project, Delete removes the selected one.
AR
Put against a face and Pick a reference – as in the action window.
D
Dimensions – dimension lines for the selection or the whole piece.
Type the size in the right panel, in Properties: width X, depth Y, height Z. The board grows right, back and up – the left-front-bottom corner stays put.
Handles: a selected board has 6 small squares in the middle of its faces (red X, green Y, blue Z). Grab and drag – the board grows that way and the opposite face stays. A label shows the change live, e.g. “W 564 → 620 mm”.
Step = the step typed in the action window (e.g. 25 mm).
A handle snaps to edges of other boards, walls and the floor.
When the next board stops a typed size or position, Furnimeter says so and offers Enlarge anyway / Move anyway.
Esc while dragging – the board goes back; Ctrl + Z undoes the whole drag.
3D editor
Action window
Four tools at the top: Move · Rotate · Align · More. Only the open tool’s settings are shown. Drag the window by its header; ↺ puts it back next to the board. At the bottom: Duplicate, Show dimensions, Delete.
Move
Type a step and click ← → ↓ ↑ front back; ⤓ floor puts the bottom at Z = 0; ✥ arrows – drag with the mouse.
Rotate
Axis X / Y / Z and ±45° or 90°. 90° swaps the sizes, 45° is stored as an angle.
Align
Choose what to align to (list or ◎ pick), then edges or centres on X / Y / Z.
More
Mirror, a gap all round (fronts), Copy ×N for a group, Slide to the nearest board, ⊣ Put against another board’s face and Gaps – how much space is left to the neighbours; type a new value and the board moves.
3D editor
Mirror
Choose the mirror axis: X (left ↔ right), Y (front ↔ back) or Z (down ↔ up).
Choose the plane: the element’s centre, next to the element, the centre of a chosen board or group, or a point picked in the view.
Check the preview: the plane and a see-through result are shown. A red preview means the result would hit another board.
Click Mirror element or Create a copy (the original stays). Nothing changes before that.
3D editor
No overlaps
The Boards do not overlap switch (K) is on by default. Moving, arrows, aligning, typed positions and enlarging stop at other boards, walls, the ceiling and the floor.
Turn it off to place boards freely – a red badge at the bottom still shows any overlaps. You can set an exception for one board (e.g. a filler going into a carcass) in Properties.
3D editor
Groups and fitted runs
Select the cabinet’s boards (Ctrl / Shift + click).
Click Group – e.g. “Cabinet_1” is created.
The group moves, aligns and mirrors as one piece.
Copy ×N – to the right, back or up, with a gap. Each copy is a new group.
You can also rename a group, Ungroup it or delete it.

Room walls
Room walls (W) shows walls with a 10 cm / 1 m grid. The wall you look through hides by itself.
Room size at the top of the section – enter width × depth × height; four walls appear and you move furniture inside.
Place by the furniture – the left wall goes to the left side of the furniture, the back wall behind it.
Walls, Grid and Ceiling sliders – from 0% (hidden) to 100%.
Walls behave like boards: furniture stops at them, Slide goes up to a wall and Gaps show the distance to a wall.

View and lighting
Views: 3D, 3D ortho, Front 2D, Side 2D, Top 2D.
Mouse: left button – orbit, right – pan, wheel – zoom.
Floor grid: 10 cm squares, a thicker line every 1 m. Coordinates under the cursor at the bottom.
The board list works like layers: an eye hides a board or group (it stays in the project and the cut list, but not in nesting); identical boards share one “× N” row.
Lighting (right panel): Studio, Technical or your own – light, shadows, roughness, edges.
Material and production
Colour and grain
The Material section in the right panel, with a Colour / Texture switch. It works on one board, several boards or a whole group.
Decors: White, Cashmere, Grey, Anthracite, Black, oaks, Walnut, Beech, Wenge – or your own colour.
Wood decors have grain at true scale. The direction – along or across – goes to the cut list as the “Grain” column.
The cut list is counted separately for each decor.
Material and production
Cut size and edge bands
Cut size – length × width × thickness and the axes they come from. ⇄ L/W swaps them (e.g. grain the other way).
Edge bands: L1 / L2 – long edges, S1 / S2 – short ones. A click bands or removes; tape ABS 0.8 / ABS 2 / PVC 0.5; all round and none – all at once.
Banded edges of the selected board glow orange in 3D.
When sizes do not match the cut size, “Cut list to check” appears at the bottom and the row turns red.
Material and production
Cut list
The Cut list section in the right panel → See the cut list: material, thickness, length, width, quantity, m², edge bands, grain and notes. Download XLSX or CSV.
Size for the workshop – workshops count differently, ask yours:
Finished part
The size after edge banding – as the board will be in the furniture.
Raw cut part
The size before banding (finished size minus the tape thickness).
The chosen size goes to the Length / Width columns, the files and nesting; the other one is shown next to it.
Material and production
Board nesting
In the Cut list section click ✂ Board nesting. The window shows how many parts and how many materials go in – each material separately.
Set the sheet (e.g. 2800 × 2070 mm), the saw kerf and the edge trim with − / +.
Click Run nesting.
Result: number of sheets, the material balance (parts, leftover material, production waste), sheet drawings with cut and edge-band lines, metres of edge band.
Print / save PDF – a summary page, then one sheet per A4 page.
Cuts are guillotine cuts – each goes edge to edge, so the plan can be cut on an ordinary panel saw. Boards hidden with the eye are skipped.
It is a simulation. The workshop or supplier runs nesting in their own software. Confirm the final plan and price where you order.
Documents
Assembly sheet
Assembly instructions for your piece – like the ones in a flat-pack box, but for your own design. The Assembly sheet button is next to Board nesting.
Exploded drawing in isometric view with board numbers.
Board and hardware list – connectors counted from the board joints.
Assembly lines and a side–top joint detail.
Side marking-out – where each board starts, has its axis and ends, holes and shelf pins, with running dimensions as from a tape measure.
A4 printing without blank pages – one sheet is one page.
Documents
Drilling templates 1:1
Cut list section → Drilling templates 1:1. Print, place on the board, drill.
Print on A4 at 100% scale (no “fit to page”).
Measure the 100 mm check ruler on the print. If it is not exactly 100 mm, fix the printer settings.
Place the template on the board edge (or on a line marked with a tape measure) and mark the holes.
Ø35 hinge cups with screw holes – on the doors, seen from inside.
Hinge plates on the side the doors hang from; a hinge-side switch.
Handles – on doors near the free edge, on drawers in the middle.
Drawer runners – the line and the first hole.
Identical boards – one template ×N.
The values are typical for common hardware. Compare them with the catalogue of your hinges and runners before drilling.
Documents
Wall-cabinet hanging plan
The Hanging plan button. Wall cabinets are recognised from the model.
Wall elevation to scale with one base line – the top of the cabinets.
Mounting points with a table – from the room corner or from the run, below the line and from the floor.
Hangers or a rail – hole spacing, rail length, plugs every ≤ 300 mm.
1:1 corner templates and a rail gauge to print.
A warning when there is too little space to the ceiling to hang a cabinet.
Project
Render
Orbit the view the way the picture should look.
Click Make a render (right panel or the toolbar icon).
Choose the format: 16:9 (1920 × 1080, 2560 × 1440, 4K) or 1:1 (1080, 2160), the background and edges.
Save PNG.
The whole piece fits the frame by itself. The picture has no arrows, grid or dimensions; room walls – if switched on – are included.
Project
Sharing
Share gives you a link and an embed code for your website. Your client can orbit the piece, see 2D views, check sizes and the cut list, make a render – but cannot change anything, because the preview is read-only.
The project is stored in the link itself, with no log-in on either side. After changes, copy the new link.
Project
Saving, files and installing
Save (yellow, right after the project name, Ctrl + S), New, Open – the project as a JSON file. Rori CAD Lab opens the same format.
Autosave in the browser – after a refresh your project comes back. On another computer, open the saved file.
Projects never go to a server – they are in your browser and in files on your disk.
Install: the “Install” icon in the address bar (Chrome, Edge). Furnimeter opens in its own window and works offline.
EN / PL – the switch in the header; in Polish the app is called Meblomiar.
